SCHERERVILLE | Employees at a Schererville T-Mobile store were ordered into a storage cage during an armed robbery Monday at the business, police said.
Before 4 p.m., two men carrying guns entered the store at 1150 U.S. 41 and told employees and one customer to gather in the rear of the business.
The men demanded that the employees open a safe, give them their cellphones and fill a bag with phones from a storage cage.
After receiving an undetermined amount of cash and several phones, the men forced the employees into the cage and fled through the rear of the store, police said.
No employees or customers were injured during the armed robbery.
The men are described as black and in their early to middle 20s.
During the robbery, one suspect was wearing blue sweatpants with a white stripe on the sides. Police said the other person appeared to be wearing blue jeans.
Both suspects were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts. They also put ski-type masks over their faces when they entered the business, police said.
Schererville detectives continue to investigate the armed robbery.
