SCHERERVILLE | St. Michael Church has the perfect venue for the corned beef dinners and green beer that will be served Saturday to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
Come to the parish's St. Patrick Hall at the south end of the church, 1 W. Wilhelm St., from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday to enjoy Irish fare as well as sausage and sauerkraut in honor of St. Joseph's Day on March 19, just two days after St. Patrick's Day.
On the menu for children will be chicken tenders and hot dogs, as well as lemonade and desserts. In fact, two banquet tables will be filled with green frosted cupcakes, large sheet cakes and a delicious variety of other desserts for all.
There will also be a table of Irish clothing and souvenirs, just in case you leave your green hat or tie at home.
The gala event is sponsored by St. Michael Church to benefit its Education Foundation for the church, the Town of Schererville and all of Northwest Indiana to continue its education in the Catholic faith.
Rob’s Homestyle Catering will do the cooking, and the parish hopes to bring families, school alumni, and the community together for dinner and some Irish fun.
Adult dinner tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door, while children 6 to 12 will pay $6 and those 5 and younger eat free. They can be purchased at the church office. Call (219) 322-4505 or visit www.stmichaels-parish.org.
