SCHERERVILLE | A veteran area attorney has been recognized with a top leadership award by the state's leading legal publication.
Rhett Tauber, president and senior partner of Tauber Law Offices in Schererville, will be presented with the Leadership in Law Distinguished Barrister Award by The Indiana Lawyer during a reception for honorees May 2 in Indianapolis.
"I couldn't be more thrilled to be chosen for this high honor," Tauber stated Thursday in an announcement.
"To be in the company of some of the most distinguished people in the Indiana legal field is not only humbling but something I will cherish forever," he said in thanking his clients and family for their support.
Tauber, an attorney for 40 years, last year formed a new firm with his daughter, Tara, and son, Jared. All three are graduates of the Valparaiso University School of Law.
Tauber, of Highland, is recognized as a mentor by colleagues and is active in youth and other community activities.
He represented the town of Highland and the School Town of Highland for more than 30 years.
Tauber was born in Hammond and is a graduate of Highland High School. Married more than 40 years, he is the father of four children and grandfather of five.
