SCHERERVILLE | The “Light up the Nite 5K Glow Run and 1 Mile Walk” will kick-off tonight at 9 p.m. at Rohrman Park.
The race will begin and end at the park, following the bike path through the “Glow Tunnel,” under Hwy. 30 and looping back.
The event is sponsored by Fuel Fitness and Horseshoe Casino and is part of the “Get Out Get Active” series sponsored by Fuel Fitness, Strack & Van Til Supermarkets and Methodist Hospital. A fireworks display provided by Luke Oil will be the event finale.
Participants should “dress to glow,” Fuel Fitness General Manager Cindi Underwood said. “Come wearing neon colors, lights and glow in the dark gear.”
The pre-race prep, check-in and party are from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
The race is open to all ages; however, those 16 or younger must be accompanied by an adult. Participants can sign up online or at the Schererville Fuel Fitness, 2300 Cline Ave., until 7 p.m. tonight.
