SCHERERVILLE | The town's Parks and Recreation Department is seeking assistance from Schererville residents as it establishes its future goals.
The department is working with The Arsh Group to create its new five-year master plan.
Schererville is asking residents to share their opinions about parks facilities and programs.
The feedback will be used to develop the plan, said John Novacich, superintendent of the Parks and Recreation Department.
Schererville residents can provide their opinions from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Town Hall, 10 E. Joliet St.
Residents also can visit the town's website, www.schererville.org, to take a parks survey.
Novacich said he hopes to present a draft of the master plan to the town's Park Board in December.
The draft would be submitted to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources in January. Final approval could occur in April, Novacich said.
Creating a new five-year plan is required for the department to be eligible for grants from the DNR, Novacich said.
