SCHERERVILLE | The Schererville Police Department's traffic division is examining if new residents from other states have registered their vehicles with the state.

State law requires people to register all of their vehicles within 60 days of becoming an Indiana resident.

During a recent sweep at a Schererville apartment complex, 62 citations were issued to those who haven't complied with the law, police said.

Schererville officers will continue to monitor areas of town for the violation, police said.
