SCHERERVILLE | Schererville residents can share their thoughts about the Police Department by participating in a survey available on the town's website, www.schererville.org.

A portion of the survey, which is available until Feb. 15, asks residents to rate a variety of aspects of the Schererville Police Department, including helpfulness, professional conduct, politeness and officer appearance.

After the survey is closed, police will review the feedback to determine if adjustments are needed in the Police Department, Schererville Police Chief David Dowling said.

Dowling said the department will seek reaccreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies in the summer. The survey is associated with that process, he said.
