SCHERERVILLE | Two region men were injured in a head-on crash on U.S. 30 in Schererville early Thursday.
Cmdr. Brian Neyhart said officers were called at 1:47 a.m. to U.S. 30 and Sunset Blvd. just west of the Bullpen Bar & Grill for a report of a head-on collision.
A 53-year-old Hebron man and a 50-year-old Lowell man were injured in the accident.
The Hebron man was initially transported to Franciscan St. Margaret Health hospital in Dyer but was later transferred in critical condition to an area trauma center.
The Lowell man was transported to another area hospital. His condition was not immediately known Thursday morning.
Neyhart said the initial investigation indicates alcohol may have played a role in the crash.
