SCHERERVILLE | Stay Strong Savannah Benefit, a vendor event and bake sale, will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Child Zone 41, 2420 Ontario St.
Savannah is a 5-year-old who is battling neuroblastoma after a diagnosis in February. The daughter of Jessica and Leon Delgado, she is an active, normal child who is now fighting cancer.
Proceeds from Sunday's fundraiser will help defray medical costs, transportation to and from doctor/hospital visits and help with any daily expenses her family may incur that won’t be covered by their insurance.
Gold Rush Girls will be on site buying all old, unwanted gold jewelry and donating a percentage back to the Stay Strong Savannah Benefit, and more than 20 other vendors will be available for shopping.
Homemade baked goods donated by the families of the day care center will sold.
Those who can't make it to the event can send donations to: Stay Strong Savannah Benefit, American Savings Bank FSB, 7880 U.S 41., St. John, IN 46373. To keep up with Savannah's story, visit www.caringbridge.org/visit/savannahgelgado.
