SCHNEIDER | Officials are investigating the death of a Schneider woman who was strangled Monday in her home.

Tracy Loitz, 40, of the 23000 block of Cottage Grove in Schneider, died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday at Franciscan St. Anthony Health in Crown Point, according to the coroner's office.

Loitz died from strangulation but the manner of death was pending Wednesday night, according to a release from the coroner's office.

The Lake County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death. Deputies could not be reached for comment late Wednesday.
