ST JOHN | Local cancer awareness organizations will benefit from an event associated with tonight's girls volleyball game between Lake Central High School and Portage High School

The Bump Out Cancer event starts at 5 p.m. at Lake Central, 8400 Wicker Ave.

Several cancer awareness groups will be at the program, and cancer survivors will be recognized.

T-shirts will be sold, and proceeds from the event will be distributed to representatives of the cancer organizations attending the program.

The volleyball players will be wearing special jerseys with lavender numbers. The color lavender represents all cancers.
