ST. JOHN | An award-winning poet and freelance writer returned to the Tri-Town area to share her talent and passion for writing. Children’s author, Donna (Austgen) Frisinger, visited St. John the Evangelist School on September 9th and shared her latest children’s book with our Kindergarten through 2nd grade classes.
Donna is the author of “Bink and Slinky’s Ark Adventure”, the story of two groovy snails trying to reach Noah’s Ark before “The Great Falling” begins. While there are other books written about Noah’s big boat and the worldwide flood, Bink and Slinky’s Ark Adventure stands alone in its perspective of this event as seen through the eyes of two of the smallest, slowest, and seemingly most insignificant of all God’s creatures. This colorfully illustrated book engaged the children with humor and snappy rhymes throughout the entire story. Her vibrant and energetic book reading was enjoyed by the students, teachers and staff.
Personalized copies of her book were made available to our students for purchase.
Donna grew up in Dyer, Indiana and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Grade School in Dyer. She graduated from Dyer Central (Lake Central) and earned a BS in Elementary Education from Butler University and a MA in Elementary Education from Indiana University.
Today she lives in Rochester, Indiana and enjoys sharing her talents.
