ST. JOHN | Hungry Hound Boutique & Grooming is collecting pet food donations throughout February for the Share The Love Pet Food Drive. Donations will be matched pound for pound by Hungry Hound and will benefit Best Buddies Pet Pantry and Lake County family pets in need.

Any brand/type of new, unopened, unexpired dog and cat food will be accepted; donations are tax-deductible. Donations can be dropped off at Hungry Hound, 8243 U.S. 41. Volunteers will be accepting donations at the store from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday

Best Buddies Pet Pantry is an all-volunteer 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides free donated pet food to families in need in Porter, Lake and LaPorte counties. The pantry's mission is to help reduce the number of family pets surrendered to animal shelters due to lack of food and keep families and pets together during tough economic times. Moe thanĀ  4000 lbs. of pet food is given to qualified families every month.
