HOT SPRINGS, Ark. | A judge has scheduled a July trial for a man charged in the 2011 death of a former St. John woman.
Kevin Duck is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend, Dawna Natzke. Natzke's body was found Dec. 31, 2011, but Duck wasn't charged in her death until late last year.
At a hearing Monday, a judge scheduled Duck's trial for July 22-25. A pretrial hearing was set for July 21.
Natzke graduated from Lake Central High School in 1984 and grew up in St. John. She worked as a police dispatcher in Arkansas for seven years.
Natzke, a mother of three, was last seen with Duck at a Christmas party. A medical examiner said Natzke died within three to four hours of leaving the party. An autopsy found she died from blunt force trauma and drowning.
Duck's attorney, T. Clay Janske, has said Duck did not kill Natzke.
