ST. JOHN | Two Cedar Lake residents face conversion charges in connection with recent thefts of razor blades.

Cynthia S. Prange, 50, and Phillip C. Konieczny, 40, are accused of stealing razor blades from Target and Strack & Van Til stores in St. John.

Police said about $463 worth of razor blades were taken during the incidents, which occurred Oct. 4 and 6.

Prange and Konieczny are believed to be involved in similar razor blade thefts at businesses in Crown Point and Cedar Lake, police said. Officers from those departments are expected to seek additional charges against Prange and Konieczny, police said.

Police estimate the two have taken more than $1,000 worth of razor blades in recent weeks.
