ST. JOHN | Two people were hospitalized after a multivehicle crash Tuesday morning near the 97th Lane and U.S. 41 intersection.
A semitrailer hauling dirt, a St. John public works truck and a car were involved in the wreck, which occurred about 10 a.m., St. John Police Chief Fred Frego said.
The drivers of the semi and the public works vehicle were taken to Franciscan St. Anthony Health in Crown Point. The nature of their injuries wasn't immediately available. Frego said its appears the injuries weren't life-threatening.
The driver of the car was treated at the scene, according to Lake County police.
Frego said the semi flipped on its side. The cause of the crash hadn't been determined by Tuesday afternoon.
A portion of 97th Lane was blocked to traffic while Lake County police crash reconstruction units investigated the crash, Frego said.
The names of the people involved in the crash weren't available.
