ST. JOHN | "Wishing You Well" is the theme of a evening garden event from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday to benefit the Flamini Family Foundation. It will be hosted by the Flamini family at their home, 8315 Meadow Lane.

Tickets are $10, and include a chance to win a $250 VISA gift card. Tickets may be purchased online at www.flaminifoundation.com.

Twenty vendors, live entertainment and, to close the evening, a luminaria display to honor those who are ill and in memory of loved ones list will be held.

"A very kind and supportive couple, Ed and Gloria Gollenik, made and donated a wishing well to us. It is the reason we created the 'Wishing you Well Event,'" said Theresa Flamini, founder of the Flamini Family Foundation.

"Guests will be able to write messages to the families staying at Ronald McDonald Houses and drop them in the wishing well. They can also make donations to help our foundation, should they choose to. The messages will be collected and distributed at all of the houses by the director of the house near Comer Children’s Hospital in Chicago."

Last Christmas, Flamini added, the foundation provided gifts to all children who were hospitalized at Franciscan Alliance St. Margaret, Community, St. Mary, Franciscan Alliance St. Anthony Crown Point, and St. Catherine hospitals, along with Comer Children’s, UIC Pediatrics’, Advocate Hope Children’s, St. James, and Ingalls hospitals in Illinois.

"We also gave each family staying at the Ronald McDonald House a $25 AMEX gift card on Christmas day along with many other donations during the holidays to help families and children," Flamini said.
