Temporary pantry sites return

WHITING | The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana is bringing back its Pantry on the Go program Monday, setting up temporary pantries in different locations around the regon each week to serve those in need of food assistance.

Monday's pantry runs from 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the American Legion, 2003 Indianapolis Blvd., Whiting.

Free grains, fruits, vegetables, dairy and protein are set to be available, first come, first serve. For more information, contact Megan Sikes, (219) 980-1777.



Chamber hosts breakfast seminar

SCHERERVILLE | The Dyer, St. John and Schererville Chamber's Annual Breakfast Seminar scheduled to run from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday in the community room of Town Hall, 10 E. Joliet St.

Networking and a breakfast sponsored by Centier Bank will start at 7:30 a.m. At 8 a.m., a presentation on incorporating video into your social media strategy will begiven by David Woodson, a local internet marketer. Chamber members from Cedar Lake, Dyer, Highland, St. John and Schererville are asked to RSVP for this event by April 23.

National Day of Prayer event scheduled

SCHERERVILLE | The Tri-Town Ministerial Association has scheduled a National Day of Prayer gathering for noon Thursday at the St. John Township Trustee's Gazebo, 1515 W. U.S. 30.

In celebration of the National Day of Prayer, leaders and musicians from participating churches will lead a time of prayer and worship. The program will last less than an hour.
