A Valentine's charity luncheon will be held Sunday at Teibel's Restaurant in Schererville.

The event will benefit Honor Flight Chicago, the organization honoring U.S. veterans from Northwest Indiana and the Chicago area. The theme for the 2018 event, now in its 10th year, is "Bashful Billionaire Howard Hughes."

It will feature displays, photographs, film clips and autographs and correspondence about the life of aviator Howard Hughes, his Hollywood romances and his wartime folly designing his infamous "Spruce Goose" aircraft. The afternoon luncheon includes door prizes and a presentation about both Honor Flight and Hughes. A four-course meal starring at the event includes a menu choice of main entrées. Each lunch includes choice of beverage and cake and ice cream for dessert. The event is annually hosted by author/journalist Philip Potempa.

FYI: Tickets are $40 per person, which includes tax and tip. Seating is at round tables of eight. For tickets, call 219-921-6152. Teibel's is located at the corner of U.S. 30 and U.S. 41.
