CHICAGO | A Whiting woman was arrested Friday on allegations she carried a loaded gun into the Richard J. Daley Center in Chicago.
Ana C. Gomez, 38, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon. She was released from jail last weekend on a $25,000 bond, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.
According to a news release, Gomez was at the center helping her father with an eviction issue. She was stopped during a security screening after deputies found a loaded 9 mm handgun in her purse.
Gomez told deputies she forgot the gun was in her purse. She has a license from Indiana to carry a gun, according to police.
