WESTVILLE | Authorities said 16 people were arrested Saturday at an alleged underage drinking party.
According to LaPorte County Sheriff's Department, officers arrived at University Village just before 1 a.m. Saturday to find a crowded apartment and several individuals on a second floor balcony tossing beer bottles into a pond.
Officers heard loud music and hollering and found beer bottles inside one of the units across from Purdue North Central along U.S. 421.
Police said 13 of the suspects were booked at the LaPorte County Jail for underage drinking while three other individuals were taken to the LaPorte County Juvenile Services Center for the same offense.
