LaPorte police are not sure if there's a connection in recent burglaries at two city bars.

Two 17-year-olds have been arrested for allegedly forcing open a front door at Friend's nightclub early Saturday on Washington Street.

According to police, a half dozen bottles of hard liquor and more than a dozen packs of cigarettes were taken.

Two nights later, police said a window was pried open at Shooter's also on Washington Street.

Several hundreds dollars in cash was taken by still unknown suspects.

LaPorte Police Chief of Detectives Tom Thate said whether there's a link is not clear.
