A fire at an 1850s house outside LaPorte has been ruled undetermined.
LaPorte County Sheriff's Department fire investigator Mike Raymer said Tuesday finding a cause could not be made because there's nothing left of the historic structure.
"There's no walls. No ceilings. There's nothing left," Raymer said.
The Friday night blaze in the 4500 block of West Johnson Road was at the site of the Red Barn Experience, a place for weddings and other gatherings.
Raymer said it's believed the fire began in the basement and trying to determine a cause will be left up to the insurance company.
The owner, Bill Sales and his family, were not home when the fire broke out.
Two pets were rescued from the two story home.
