LAPORTE | The LaPorte County Fair has just added its second major country music superstar to this year's entertainment line up.
Dierks Bentley will perform on the Wednesday night of the fair, which runs from July 6-12.
"We're happy to bring another big name to the people of LaPorte, LaPorte County and the surrounding area to enjoy," said fair manager Gene Shurte.
Bentley made it big with the 2003 No. 1 single, "What Was I Thinkin" and since has had 10 No. 1 hits.
Tickets will go on sale beginning Saturday, fair officials said.
Shurte said tickets for Bentley could be purchased even faster than the several tickets bought within a few days for Little Big Town, which will perform July 10.
The two major acts spring from an effort that started a few years ago to host more major entertainment venues at the fairgrounds throughout the summer by adding bleachers holding well over 10,000 or more people in the grandstands.
