LaPorte police are trying to find out who stole a jar containing donations for cancer patients.
Officers were called Sunday to Marathon at 1338 W. Ind. 2 after the store manager noticed the jar for leukemia patients was missing from the counter.
The manager reviewed surveillance video, which revealed a woman taking the jar and slipping it underneath her coat Dec. 19 while paying for her items, police said.
According to police, the woman was white and heavy set with a tattoo on her neck.
About $25 was inside the jar.
