LAPORTE | A fundraiser is Sunday for the family of a LaPorte boy killed in a motor vehicle crash last month.
"Striking For Skyler" will occur from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Thunderbird Lanes at 1251 Pine Lake Ave. in LaPorte.
According to organizers of the event, the cost is $100 per lane with five to six people suggested per lane.
There will be unlimited bowling, raffles, a 50/50 drawing along with music, a cash bar and food.
All of the proceeds will go to the family of 17-year old Skyler Kleine to offset expenses incurred by his death.
On Oct. 8, Kleine drove into the side of a semi truck on Ind. 2 outside New Carlisle after possibly running a stop sign, police said.
The semi truck wound up driving over the top of his car, police said.
Police said Kleine was employed by Loren’s Pool Supply in LaPorte and had been working at a job site in New Carlisle before the crash.
