Good Friday Crosswalk scheduled

LAPORTE | The La Porte Ministerial Association has scheduled the annual Good Friday Crosswalk for March 29th beginning at 12 noon.

The community is invited to meet together at First United Methodist Church--1225 Michigan Ave. A short talk will be given about the first phrase Christ uttered from the cross. Then everyone is welcome to follow the cross as it is carried to different locations throughout the community.

Each location on the trek will include a short talk about one of the seven last phrases spoken by Christ from the cross. The schedule is as follows.

First Word: "Father Forgive Them"—First United Methodist Church 1225 Michigan Ave Second Word: "Today You Shall be With me in Paradise"--St Mary’s of the Angels, 811 Monroe St Third Word: "Behold thy Mother, Behold thy Son"—IU Health La Porte Hospital Chapel,

Fourth Word: "My God, My God, Why Have you Forsaken Me"—Bethany Lutheran Church, 102 G St Fifth Word: " I Thirst"-La Porte New Church, 812 Indiana Ave Sixth Word: " It is Finished" -First Baptist Church, 802 Indiana Ave Seventh Word: " Into thy Hands I Commit my Spirit"—St Paul’s Episcopal Church, Michigan Ave & Harrison St.
