LAPORTE | The Greater LaPorte Ministerial Association heard from Rev. Honnalora Hubbard of the Terre Haute Ministries at their monthly meeting. Rev. Hubbard shared about her involvement in this exciting community ministry in Terre Haute that involves fifty of the community churches. Their ministry has become the voice of the broader church in that community and coordinates, communicates and connects resources with the needs of the community. They were launched during the 2008 Flood in that city and have continued to serve together in many ways.

In addition, the LaPorte pastors discussed how to implement some of the principles in LaPorte as well as the details of our annual Sharefest “Day of Sharing” by the churches. During this year’s Sharefest, we will be doing some of the following: Oil Changes for Single Moms, mowing people’s lawns, clean up projects at Worthy Women Recovery Home, landscaping at the Civic Center, spreading mulch at many of the city parks, playing Bingo with the LaPorte County Home residents, building a ramp at a local home, serving a community meal and more. We also heard an update of First Step of LaPorte and the Salvation Army of LaPorte. More information about Sharefest and Ministerial can be found at Come join us as we partner together to make a positive difference in LaPorte!
