LAPORTE COUNTY | A 20-year-old woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday morning near Kingsford Heights.

Amanda Lovins, 20, of Kingsford Heights, was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma, said LaPorte County Coroner John Sullivan.

The single-vehicle crash just after 1 a.m. happened when Lovins was southbound on Range Road and disregarded a stop sign at 800 South, according to LaPorte County Police.

Her 1999 Ford Explorer crossed the three way intersection and crashed into a cement drainage culvert that runs along the bank of some railroad tracks.

Sullivan said Lovins had a blood-alcohol content of .283.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle, police said.
