LAPORTE | On Thursday, Nov. 1, the La Porte County Purdue Extension Homemakers will again be hosting a “Taste of Extension Homemakers” starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Building at the La Porte County fairgrounds. Participants will receive tips and ideas for preparing quick, easy and beautiful cookies as well as gifts from the kitchen for holiday gift giving.
Demonstrations will include: Quick Fixes from Mixes; Gifts from the Kitchen; Cookie Pops and No-Bake Cookies; and Cookie Cups. A complimentary cookbook which will include the recipes and other useful information will be given out. Refreshments and door awards will conclude the evening. There is no charge, but reservations would be appreciated.
This will also be an informative time to introduce the Extension Homemaker program to La Porte County residents and answer any questions. In 2013, the Indiana Extension Homemakers organization will be celebrating its 100th anniversary. Events and activities are planned throughout the coming year to mark this occasion.
