A LaPorte County sheriff's deputy had bullets stolen from a personal vehicle.
Police in LaPorte responded about noon Sunday to the home of an officer on the city's west side.
The officer reported his 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck had been broken into and a magazine to a .45-caliber handgun was stolen, police said.
There were 13 rounds in the fully loaded magazine, police said.
A second loaded magazine and other items in the vehicle were not taken.
Police said there were no guns in the officer's truck.
The officer, a 27-year member of the Sheriff's Department, said the magazine was his personal property.
