LAPORTE | A suspect in the robbery of a gas station in LaPorte last fall is in custody.
Shaun Casto, 26, was arrested about 8 a.m. Wednesday at a residence in the 1800 block of South Basswood Trail, which is north of Westville.
According to LaPorte County police, officers received information that Casto was potentially staying there with a woman.
Casto was arrested on a charge alleging he robbed the Clark Oil station at 104 E. Lincolnway in September.
Police said a man wearing a mask pulled out a large butcher knife. The man then placed a plastic bag on the counter, and the clerk placed $400 inside the bag, police said.
Casto told police he has a drug problem and used heroin the night before the robbery, according to court documents.
