LaPorte Mayor Blair Milo was back on the job Monday after her SUV overturned on black ice in a two vehicle crash over the weekend.

The collision happened Saturday before 11 p.m. on Ind. 43 between Chalmers and Brookston, according to the White County Sheriff's Department.

Police were not releasing further details, but Milo posted on Facebook that she slid into the oncoming lane on black ice colliding with an oncoming vehicle.

Her SUV wound up on the driver's side and she was helped out of the passenger side window by "caring strangers," she said in the posting.

Milo described the injuries sustained by her and the driver and passenger in the other vehicle as minor.
