A LaPorte teacher is accused of drunk driving.
According to LaPorte County Police, Jeremy Swank, 33, early Thursday was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
Police said the LaPorte area man was traveling in Fish Lake when he disregarded a stop sign at 800 East and Ind. 4.
During a traffic stop, police said the Boston Middle School teacher was found with a blood alcohol content of 0.11 percent.
LaPorte Schools Superintendent Dr. Glade Montgomery said any faculty member charged with a crime could be subject to disciplinary action after the matter is looked into internally.
He would not say if any disciplinary was taken against Swank because of it being a personnel matter.
“That's our procedure on how we investigate these situations,” Montgomery said.
