LAPORTE | Police on Tuesday were still investigating an attempt to rob a fast food restaurant at knifepoint.

According to police, a man walked into Arby's on Pine Lake Avenue just after 7 p.m. Monday.

The suspect approached the counter and showed a large kitchen knife from his coat, said police.

He demanded money and threatened to stab the employee, who yelled for someone to call 911.

Police said the man then fled out the south doors of the business and was last seen running toward Rockwood Street.

According to police, the man was described as white, 50 to 60 years old, about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build and wrinkled hands.

Police said identifying the suspect could prove more difficult because of a T-shirt wrapped around the man's head and face.
