LAPORTE | “Show Mommy how the piggies eat,” said Mrs. Parker, coaxing Randy to eat his supper. The theme this holiday season at the La Porte County Historical Society Museum is the popular movie, “A Christmas Story,” which is set in northern Indiana. The society will be hosting Mrs. Parker’s Piggy Lunch on Saturday in the meeting room of the museum.
Ralphie remembers every meal in the Parker house to have been meatloaf, mashed potatoes and red cabbage. Creative Catering from Westville will be recreating this meal along with a tossed salad, and dessert plus a few surprises. There will be two seatings, at noon and again at 2 p.m. Reservations are required. Call (219) 324-6767 to reserve seats. The cost is $15, which includes museum admission.
There will be a trivia contest during the luncheon. Prizes will be given. While at the museum, have your photo taken in a pink bunny suit and visit Higbee’s Department Store on Main Street.
The LaPorte County Historical Society Museum is at 2405 Indiana Ave.
