LAPORTE | It’s that time once again for “things that go bump in the night” at the La Porte County Historical Society Museum. The second annual Sip’n’Scream Halloween event will take place at the museum starting at noon on Saturday, October 19th. Showings of the Gunness Mystery, a Trivia Contest, scary storyteller, Monsters of the Lakes and more will send shivers down the spines of visitors on that day. The schedule for the day is as follows:

Noon-

“The Gunness Mystery” Documentary, Shown in the Kesling Room, on the lower level. Documentary creator, Bruce Johnson will be on hand for questions.

La Porte County History Trivia Contest- In the meeting room of the museum.

Prizes will be given.

1:00PM-

“Monsters of the Lakes” presented by County Historian, Fern Eddy Schultz,

in the meeting room.

2:00PM-

“Creepy Classics” presented by storyteller, Grant Fitch, on the lower level.

3:00PM-

“The Gunness Mystery” Documentary, Shown in the Kesling Room, on the lower level. Documentary creator, Bruce Johnson will be on hand for questions.

La Porte County History Trivia Contest- In the meeting room of the museum.

Prizes will be given again!

From noon till closing at 4:30PM-

Scary Scavenger Hunt! Try to find the giant hair ball, the car with 2 front ends, and all kinds of other weird stuff in the museum.

Spooky Craft Project! Give yourself a “Helping Hand.”

Creepy Refreshments! Enjoy a severed toe, some brain dip, and witches brew. Maggots optional.

The programs are all free; however, regular museum admission will apply.

The La Porte County Historical Society Museum is located at 2405 Indiana Avenue in

La Porte, and is open Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00 – 4:30. Call ahead for admission prices at 219-324-6767, or visit the website at www.laportecountyhistory.org. The facility is accessible to those with disabilities.
