LAPORTE | A LaPorte area man faces criminal charges on allegations he had a sexual relationship with a girl he met through Facebook.
Shawn McFrederick, 24, was arraigned Friday in LaPorte Circuit Court on charges of Class B felony sexual misconduct with a minor and Class D felony intimidation.
According to court documents, the 15-year-old girl told police she began conversing with the man on Facebook in August, then after dating they began having sex on a regular basis.
After breaking up in December, she said McFrederick in text messages asked her to take him back, then at one point threatened to harm her family and friends, according to court documents.
An omnibus hearing in the case was set for May 10.
