Investigators say a Union Mills man injured in a single vehicle crash over the weekend was drunk.
Emergency responders were called to County Road 900 West near Westville just after 3 a.m. Sunday.
According to LaPorte County Sheriff's Department, the 36-year-old man was ejected from his 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier and lapsing in and out of consciousness in the road next to his car.
According to investigators, the driver was southbound when he went off the road and hit a tree head on.
Authorities said he was taken to Porter Regional Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
A warrant is being sought for his arrest for having a blood alcohol content of 0.267 percent, which is more than three times the legal limit.
