A LaPorte-area man who crashed on a motor-driven bicycle had a blood alcohol content five times the legal limit, according to LaPorte County police, who responded Friday afternoon to 0566 W. 250 South.
Clayton Stevens was lying in a lawn while his Huffy bicycle equipped with a gasoline powered motor was up against a telephone pole, said police.
Police said an empty bottle of vodka was recovered from his backpack.
Stevens was taken to I.U. Health LaPorte Hospital, where a blood draw revealed a .405 percent blood alcohol content, police said.
Investigators are presenting the case to prosecutors seeking an OWI charge against Stevens, who was involved in a similar mishap on the bicycle on U.S. 35 three weeks ago, police said.
