Police: Woman arrested after running into parked squad car
WESTVILLE | A woman is accused by authorities of being drunk when she struck a parked Westville squad car.
Laura Howard is charged in LaPorte Circuit Court with felony possession of a controlled substance and operating while intoxicated.
On Jan. 27, Westville Police Officer Howard Morgan responded to a call in the 200 block of Ash Parkway, according to court documents.
He parked his police vehicle along the curb then walked up to the residence to handle the call.
Morgan was standing on the porch of the home and witnessed a Ford Ranger truck hit the side of his 2003 Ford Crown Victoria, court documents revealed.
Police said Howard, 52, had a blood alcohol content of 0.11.
According to court documents, Howard also had in her possession two different kinds of prescription pills without a doctor's permission.
