The 11th annual pork chop dinner to raise money for Pioneer Land outside LaPorte is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. April 26 in the community building at the LaPorte County Fairgrounds.

The cost for tickets is $9 in advance or $10 at the door, said Ron Schafer, a Pioneer Land volunteer.

Schafer said the goal is to raise about $10,000 that will go toward the maintenance of the dozen or so buildings that make up Pioneer Land, which has become a major attraction at the fairgrounds since beginning in 1995.

A silent auction will also be held during the dinner, which last year drew about 700 people, he said.
