LAPORTE | Indiana University Health La Porte Physicians, Curtis Bejes, MD, recently received recognition for outstanding teaching.

The 2012–2013 Outstanding Teaching Award, presented by the Predoctoral Education Division of the IU Department of Family Medicine, honored Dr. Bejes as an exceptional educator, a passionate teacher and an engaged provider. Further, Dr. Bejes was recognized for the award by his third-year clerkship students.

Evaluations given by the students highlight Dr. Bejes’ stellar and special skills as both clinician and educator:

• He has a very student-centered approach.

• My preceptor was a good teacher when I asked questions.

• I enjoyed having a unique experience in rural medicine. I also liked having one-on-one interaction with my preceptor.

• He took a great interest in furthering my education and developing my clinical skills, as well as increased my interest in family medicine.

As a recipient of the award, Dr. Bejes was invited to attend one of four upcoming national family medicine conferences.

Dr. Bejes welcomes new patients at his North Judson primary care practice, located at 414 Lane St. Call 574.896.3444 to schedule an appointment.
