LA PORTE | All members of the public are invited to the Starke County Community 5K Run and 2-Mile Walk event on Saturday, Oct. 5 in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
In partnership with Indiana University Health Starke Hospital, the event will take place around Knox High School. Attendees are asked to meet just north of the football field.
On-site registration begins at 3 pm (Central time) and opening ceremonies begin at 3:30 pm. The run/walk will begin promptly at 4 pm. The running route will be chip-timed by TH Timing.
Registration is $20/person, includes a T-shirt and is payable by check or cash only. Local restaurants, Burger King and McDonalds, will provide drinks and supplies.
Proceeds benefit the Starke Health Fund. The fund assists IU Health Starke Hospital patients and the community with healthcare-related needs, wellness efforts and health education. Donors can be assured that 100 percent of funds are used to support the individual needs of the Starke County community. The La Porte Hospital Foundation is the fiscal manager of the Starke Health Fund.
