LAPORTE | LaPorte County Parks and the LaPorte County Small Animal Shelter have joined forces to host its third annual Pet Fest in the Park from Wags to Whiskers at Luhr County Park, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday. This event is free.

New this year, the Small Animal Shelter will have micro-chipping for $25 for a lifetime registration, said Jane Bernard, director of the LaPorte County Small Animal Shelter.

The LaPorte County Small Animal Shelter, along with many other vendors, will have stations set-up along the trail with goodies. Each vendor will have something animal related. there will be demonstrations, pet costume contest and pet trick contest, pet photography, silent auction, help with the LaPorte County Dog Pantry, adopt a new pet information, and more. All animals must be on a leash at all times and “oops” bags will be provided. Aggressive or female animals in heat are not allowed.

As you stroll along the vendors be sure to fill out a sheet for a chance to win prizes at each booth.
