WANATAH | A man was seriously injured when he drove into the back of a semi tractor-trailer near Wanatah this weekend.

According to LaPorte County Police, at about 11 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to 700 West and Volk Road and found emergency responders removing Scott Geisler from of his damaged car.

Police said the Geisler, 57, from Wanatah was flown to a South Bend hospital due to a serious head injury. He also suffered a broken arm, according to police.

Police said it appears Geisler was speeding and failed to negotiate a curve.

His car hit the back end of a tractor-trailer parked in front of a home.

Police on Monday were still awaiting the results of toxicology tests.
