LAPORTE COUNTY | A power outage caused by strong storms this week may have contributed to a bull being injured when struck by a vehicle in LaPorte County.

Jeffrey Bunch late Wednesday night hit the bull on LaPorte County Road 100 South near Mill Creek, according to LaPorte County police.

Steve Holifield, the owner of the bull, told police his power had been out for three days, allowing the 1-year-old bull to escape the electric fence along his property.

The bull was straddling the edge of the road when hit by Bunch, who was not injured.

The bull suffered an undisclosed injury to his leg and was allowed to return to the pasture.
