SOUTH BEND — A 32-year-old Michigan City man was sentenced Monday to 120 months behind bars after pleading guilty this summer to a charge of distributing heroin.

Daniel Mallet pleaded guilty to distributing the illegal drug to a police officer in Michigan City on May 5, 2016, according to court records.

Mallet, who was was sentenced in South Bend, will also serve three years of supervised release after leaving prison.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank E. Schafer, according to a press release.
