A Michigan City man has been charged in the November robberies of a gas station and motel, both at knife point.

Edward Knoll, 41, was charged with two felony counts of robbery and two felony counts of criminal confinement.

According to Michigan City police, Knoll is charged in the Nov. 20 armed robbery of Virk's BP gas station, 1204 Franklin St. In that incident, Knoll allegedly entered the station at 1:23 a.m. and demanded money from the clerk at knife point.

The following day, at 3:04 a.m., he allegedly entered the Baymont Inn, 4128 Franklin St., produced a knife and demanded money from the clerk, according to Lt. Steve Westphal.

Knoll was taken into custody on Nov. 22 after police received a tip on his location.
