LaPorte County authorities on Tuesday were trying to determine who robbed a Michigan City-area gas station/convenience store.
On Monday night, investigators responded to Next Door Foods at 10201 N. U.S. 12 just east of the city limits.
A female teller told police she gave $85 to two males wearing dark ski masks who fled westbound on foot.
No weapon was displayed.
However, one of the robbers kept a hand in the front pocket of his hooded sweatshirt to at least make it seem as if he had a gun, authorities said.
A tracking dog led officers into the nearby Shady Oak Trailer Park, but no suspects were located, investigators said.
